If what you’re interested in is creating the greatest chic style, deciding what type of clothing will dominate the market, which people will dress in it and how, you have to know that what you look is to be is a stylist. This is the most wanted job in the industry right now. But you have to know that stylists cover these three areas or categories:

-Editorial style / Photo shoots style
-Branding consultancy
-Celebrity style

Editorial style: Costume selector.

He’ll take care of clothings, accessories, meaning general aspects of the model for the photo shoot. Besides being quite a wanted job, the stylist works under the guidelines of the magazine or art director, given that they define the session’s theme and what brands will be used.

The stylist essential tools are the Lookbooks, designer collection catalogs, generally seen on a runway. If the stylist finds something useful in it, calls the agency or public relations department of the designer’s brand and asks for the item.

The stylist as a consultant and public relationist

Stylists are hired in different moments of production and clothing exhibition. If he’s involved during the whole process, which is unusual, then he will go to some meetings with the designer, who will show him research, ideas, sketches, and the stylist will give his opinion to place in the right direction the exhibition and distribution. This means to have a visual and stylish baggage to develop his own ideas, necessary to be presented to the designing team. He does not create physical pieces, but he does presents ideas.

The guardian of celebrities image

Here the stylist works with a celebrity, let’s say Brad Pitt, to dress him for an event, for which he will only be for special occasions. In this role the stylist evaluates the brand, with the purpose of making that celebrity image reinforced: respectability, commitment, discipline, amongst others; something very important for the development of the artist personal brand.

How to Boost Your Self-Confidence

If you make sure to have a great self-confidence, the challenges you face will be easier to accomplish.

While many think that high school is where we create our personality, truth is, our first years of college are as important as all the years of basic education together, when it comes to shaping and creating the person we’re going to be in a more professional setting. Leaving home, facing the responsibility of having to respond on your own every single thing in your life at this point, this requires exploring our way on our own. It’s not just an academical activity, for many college students, the challenges can lower their self-confidence. Second guessing themselves and trying to fit in cliques or groups with certain behaviors are part of the experience and can do serious harm to the personality you are creating if you are not especially careful.

For that reason, we’re here to show you how amazing your life can be with the help of a bit more of self-confidence! We’re going to show you easy methods to give you the much-needed trust in yourself, and this will help you get to where you want to be.

Believe in yourself: One of the most important things about self-confidence is being sure of what you know and what you do. Believing in yourself is vital for you to understand your abilities and limitations, and how to face those challenges with motivation and skill.

Stop procrastinating: The worst thing you can do when feeling confident is to leave things for later. Problems get bigger, tasks get harder, but the reality of it all is that, when you procrastinate, you cannot achieve your goals and you will feel down on your luck. Stop holding things for later and get your hands on the projects you must complete.

Learn something new: Knowledge is the tool for the future. When you focus on learning something new and improving yourself, you’ll see an incredible change on your self-perception. Learning a new language, enrolling in a course or taking a workshop can make you feel prepared and in tune with your confidence in those subjects, and are great to do as hobbies.

Think differently: You need to prepare your mind to keep yourself motivated to create tasks that will increase your confidence. Keeping positive thoughts and squashing negative behaviors is vital, as this will make you feel sure and confident about the actions and reactions you feel on a daily basis.

In Marconi International University, you can find the alternatives to make your life incredible through academical learning, and the spaces to create the personality that will stay with you and help you reach your goals. Remember that you are the master of your life and that every single thing that you want to achieve can be done through learning and by improving every part of your personality.
Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something, and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained.
- Marie Curie
One of the best tools for success is a high regard for yourself.

Instant Pick-me-ups From Fellow College Students

Sometimes, being surrounded by people and having to study feels like too much. You just have to increase your confidence.

College is a time where motivation plays a bit role in how people perceive you. There are times where you feel blue, and it's hard to know how to react and feel when it comes to getting your mindset in the right place. To motivate yourself, there are a lot of things you can do, but I decided that today was the day when your fellow college students can lend some wise words to you in order to help you reach the goals that you want by giving you their instant pick me ups.

Eat healthy food: This is one of the least thought about solutions for the college blues. In fact, when you’re eating food that doesn't nourish you, your energy levels plummet, and that does nothing to help your mood. For that reason, one student wants to share his insight on this fact:
“When I’m feeling down, I love to eat something healthy, that makes me feel good” - Dave.

Get some sleep: You can get incredibly grumpy when you have not rested the right amount of time. For that reason, you need to consider taking naps or devoting yourself to take the right amount of sleep. Another student wanted to share her experience with it: “When I need a pick-me-up, I take a power nap. It makes me feel energized almost instantly. The best thing is that I can make it as short at 15 minutes, so I can take them any time of the day” - Danielle.

Do some exercise: While physical activity is recommended to anyone, the idea is to make it a habit while in college. It's a good thing to use it more frequently to get the extra energy you need. “I like to do something that I find exciting, like running or getting a karate class. That helps me shake off the stress of midterms and presentations” - Charles.

Get social: You need to allow yourself some time to meet with people you like to spend time with. Even if you are not very social, meeting with others can help you shake off your stress, and you can even talk to them about it, who knows? Maybe one of them can offer some insight or opinion about it. “I’m not a very a social person, but I love to share with my friends. Eating out or just watching a movie, it helps me control my mind when it comes to all the things I have to do.” - Albert.

At Marconi International University, we want you to experience the world through the eyes of a novelty in mind. For that reason, we want you to enjoy the experience of college with a unique outlook: getting ideas from others as to what to do when it comes to shaking off the stress through instant pick me ups that can help you reach the goals that you want.
Are you feeling a little down? Then this handy list will help you feel better in no time.

Leadership: The Skill to Hone in College

Leaders are not the ones barking orders, they're the ones motivating their teams to work and be efficient!

College is the place to develop your talents and interest, and while for some this comes naturally, others need a special push. That’s when a leader comes in. They’re in charge (whether appointed by someone or on a more natural setting) of saying and acting in a way that inspires others. But when you’re at this stage of your life, learning the how-to of leadership is vital for your future.

For years, we’ve kept a “boss” approach in life. Ordering, saying things in a way that shows superiority and that pushes people to work and develop their habitual task in a way that’s less than motivating. This is usually the main cause for failure. Why is this? People that don’t feel motivated are not prone to take the leap and give the extra mile that makes the difference in a project, and this goes all the way to the labor life, as the same behavior occurs in business. All the measures that people tend to take in order to look like an authority have the potential to make them look like dictators. This means that while you can actually ‘lead’ a group, you’re not forming people and sharing leadership, you are only barking orders at them and expecting them to comply. While this is a harsh approach to the idea, it’s the perception of being ‘bossed around’ what tends to undermine the self-perception and creates people that don’t want to do what they must. For that reason, leadership is vital: having it and putting it into practice.

You need to know that every single one of us has the potential to be a leader. While for some, this particular skill is more developed in a natural way, you can hone your innate ability to lead and make a difference, not only in your life, but also in the lives of those around you. You can be the difference between the completion of a project and the standing ovation kind of success. College is the right place to do it: you can actually go in with the mentality of not taking leadership as a class, sometimes you can lead and act upon with it in a way that’s efficient for you and those around you.

These are the skills that you need to hone in order to improve your leadership skills:

  • Motivation: Leaders are known for not ordering, but for motivating and suggesting in a way that impulses people to work towards a goal. It can be through words or actions, but showing them that what they do is worth it and important to reach the overall goal is vital for the successful completion of any project.
  • Compromise: While you can motivate them without creating a sense of compromise, you’ll see your work done without giving that extra mile that makes the difference. The amount of compromise you can generate is right up in the alley of a leader, and it’s incredibly important to learn how to do it efficiently.
  • Communication: If you are leading a group, you need to know how to communicate in an efficient manner. For that reason, if you want to lead in an efficient way, then communicating is vital.
Enrolling in Marconi International College is a great way to practice and improve your leadership skills helping you reach the goals you set yourself. As they have programs that specialize in connecting with others, their system and installations allow students to take the lead and practice a more active approach the education and learning process for their whole lives.
Leadership and problem-solving skill are vital for your future. Take the lead and hone them in college!

Why you Need to Take a Break From Your Smartphone

Sometimes, you need to recognize that you spend too much time stuck on that little screen.

We’re the most connected generation known in humanity: people can be chatting with others across the globe in real time, and the hitch only comes from wonky Internet. Devices have been getting more efficient in the past decade, and every year a new batch of smartphones graces the market, and people quickly turn their heads to the newer and most innovative models. High-quality cameras, longer battery life, and many other perks with the new devices come, but a bit of your life goes away with them. Yes, just like that: even while we are the most connected generation, we’re losing the link and social interaction bound to happen with the people close to us.

College students know that their phones are vital in their routines, and they use them to stay connected to their classmates, assignments and other important pieces of data that they need to use on their day to day basis. But even so, these devices can be incredibly harmful to you, and I want to show you just how much they impact your routine.

  • Higher stress levels: The use of smartphones like lifelines can make the stress levels rise to the sky. Why? Being constantly connected without having time to “decompress” or take a break for yourself is one of the factors that make the statistics about stress skyrocket.

  • Eye tiredness: Staying all day long with your eyes stuck on a tiny screen can be incredibly harmful. As they require you to scrunch your eyes and focus on small details, they often put the extra strain on the muscles and systems that work in this sense.

  • Headaches: As if having your eyes sore and a higher stress level is not enough, the people that spend most of their days glued to their smartphones are incredibly prone to headaches, even turning into full blown migraines.

  • Neck pain: Using your smartphone often requires you to do a lean in your head, putting extra pressure on the muscles that do this function and the bones in the neck area. Tiredness in this area is incredibly frequent for smartphone addicts, and it can even do severe harm and swelling to the nerves in the occipital area.

  • Skin problems: Whether you believe it or not, people that spend too much time calling and using their smartphones are prone to facial skin problems, as these devices are home for bacteria and grime accumulated over time. You might clean the screen frequently, but the chemicals, germs and such can still affect your visage.

  • Less sleep: Smartphone addicts spend most of their days and nights on the device, and this can harm their sleep cycles severely. Some might even take them to bed and use them in there instead of sleeping, skipping the much-needed rest for their body.

While here at Marconi International University, we impulse the use of technology in order to reach your goals, we also know the importance of taking personal time in order to reach your goals. For that reason we want you to consider unplugging yourself from the smartphone and live life fully through the natural course.
Using your phone all the time might lead to health complications.

The Best way to Protect Your Electronic Devices

Make sure to follow the right pieces of advice to have all your electronics protected at all times!

Your gadgets are the most important thing during your whole college experience. Yes, friends and academical tasks are vital, but without a phone to snap a picture and contact your professors, a laptop or tablet to investigate and resume the information that you need to check, or to listen the your classes’ recording, you’re missing a big chunk of the modern academic experience.  But students rarely pay the correct amount of attention to the state of these devices until it's too late. They flunk and fail, making them miss information that’s vital for their activities. Do you want to be part of this terrible statistics? No one wants to miss out on data that can help them reach their academic dreams. For that reason, we bring you simple tips to keep them perfect all the time.

  • Clean them with microfiber: These cloths are your best friends, once you find the right one for your devices. Check the labels and use the ones that are specially designed for screens, as these are less likely to leave scratches on the surfaces.

  • Use compressed air: Using this method to clean keyboards and other spaces where dust surely accumulates is ideal, as it takes the grime right out. Remember to be extremely careful while using them, as they can make small objects stuck in your devices fly away.

  • Buy special bags: Most of the harm done to computers and such devices is the dings made by other objects in the bags where they are transported. Pack them in individual bags that protect them from other objects in there.

Here at Marconi International University, we want you to experience the whole power of technology, and the best way to do is by taking care of the things that are going to help you throughout your academic career. For that reason, we want you to use these suggestions to take care of your electronics and keep them perfect for all your needs.

You need to take care of your electronic devices so you can have them fully functional whenever you need them.
