Reasons why you Should Empty Your Backpack

Having a messy backpack can make your productivity plummet!

A student’s life is incredibly hard. You have a million things to do and little time to tackle it all down. But there’s something that people often miss, and that’s organizing their backpacks. It’s so easy to get caught up in another million things so when you need something out of it, you just don’t have a clue as to where it was! That happens a lot with college students’ backpacks, and this is problematic in more ways than one. Your things can get lost: the documents and damaged binders, broken pens spilling ink all over that important essay that you need to deliver right now… Sounds extreme, right? But hey, it happens! So, to avoid these dreaded problems, you need to clean your backpack right away. Need more reasons? Then keep on reading!

Why should you empty your backpack?
Ideally, the process of cleaning backpacks should be done at least once a week. I’m sure that you are not feeling quite happy about that right now, am I correct? Well, once you know exactly why this is important and vital for your organization, you will change your mind and empty it right away!

  • More organization: A filled backpack rarely is an organized place. Scattered paper, pens, and debris are bound to bounce off and damage the rest of the items inside the bag. So, in order to stay organized, you need to clean it frequently.

  • Less prone to pen accidents: Pens break and spill ink. Markers do the same thing too. It doesn’t have anything to do with you or anything, it’s simply a matter or organization. If you keep them in the right place, in a clean and organized backpack, you are less likely to experience these problems.

  • Easy access to material: Organized and clean backpacks are places where everything is at the tip of your fingers. You know what’s in them and you can access those items without a hitch.

  • Quick disposal of waste: Old papers, food wrappers, pencil shavings, and another great deal of things can get other things dirty and make your backpack even heavier than what is supposed to be.
How to clean your backpack?
Once you understand how important it is for you keep your back clean, it’s time to learn how to do it in a way that’s completely efficient. This will increase your chances at being productive without a doubt.

  • Empty your backpack on a surface: Make sure that this surface is easy to clean, as you don’t really know what’s going to be inside your backpack. Some scraps of paper and little pieces of dirt can get bedding (for example) dirty and so on.

  • Get rid of waste residues: Throw everything you’re not going to use to the waste bin. If you have some damaged notes, then pass them to a clean piece of paper and throw the other. It happens to every sort of waste residue in your backpack.

  • Clean your backpack: The fabric gets dirty too, and in order to look better and be sure that you aren’t facing cross-contamination from the grime inside it, you need to do a thorough wash. This will make it all perfect.

  • Organize the internal items: Binders, pens and every other item that you are used to carrying inside your backpack needs to find a home. Those being portable bags or some other kind of items. You need to make sure to have those elements protected and organized inside your backpack.

  • Weight it: Yes. Sounds strange right? Well, you need to understand that backpacks can not weight more than 10% of your weight tops. Weighing it in might help you decide what do leave home for the normal routine.
